Today, Currituck County released a set of documents, some of which pertain to the ongoing controversy surrounding Commissioner Paul Beaumont and the county manager Ike McRee’s contract. Despite this records release, there were no significant revelations except for the identification of MacKenzie Bolen, a recruiter with InsightGlobal, who posted the county manager job to her LinkedIn.
Additionally, the documents addressed other matters, including a situation involving county resident Jon King, who was unsuccessful in a bid for a county job due to a technical error in his application. Another set of emails discussed the H2OBX expansion project, during which Vice Chair Selina Jarvis referred to another county resident, Shay Ballance, as “a self-serving jerk” and suggested studying his planning board behaviors for insights.
Furthermore, it’s important to note that Jarvis’s statement about Ballance comes on the heels of other unsettling emails sent between commissioners about Beaumont and without his knowledge, further adding to the atmosphere of tension and suspicion within the commission.
