Blackwater Reports Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public, nonprofit online media dedicated to providing independent news, information, and investigative research. We pride ourselves on our commitment to teamwork, integrity, and transparency.

Our founder, Thom Roddy, a retired naval officer with decades of leadership experience, understands the power of collaboration and collective effort. During a recent inquiry by a judge in Currituck District Court about who “we” are, Roddy expressed that nothing of significance is achieved by a single person alone but rather by the collective efforts of a dedicated team. This ethos of teamwork defines who we are at Blackwater Reports.

Roddy and our dedicated team of volunteers believe in the strength of unity and the power of collaboration. As a result, we prefer to use inclusive language such as “we,” “us,” and “our” when addressing our reports. This reflects our belief that our work is a collective endeavor and that we are all stakeholders in the pursuit of truth and accountability.

It’s important to note that Blackwater Reports is 100% staffed and supported by volunteers. Unlike traditional media organizations, donor funds do not pay staff salaries. Instead, our volunteers generously donate their time, skills, and expertise to further our mission of promoting transparency, accountability, and informed citizenship.
