The Impact of Independent Fact-Checking on Christian Social Media in 2026

Our fact-checking division continues to operate without interruption. Its mission is to bring clarity and truth to content produced by biased legacy media, mainstream outlets, and social media platforms through rigorous, independent verification. We have recently expanded our work to include Christian-oriented social media. Too often, these spaces misuse or distort Scripture—twisting Bible verses in ways that manipulate and control followers rather than edify them. Independent fact-checking is crucial for exposing and correcting such distortions.

The Role & Independence of Fact-Checkers

Blackwater Reports is a 501(c)(3) Christian nonprofit dedicated to independent fact-checking. We are deliberately unaffiliated with any industry consortium or certifying body that claims to accredit or “officially” approve fact-checkers. When a fact-checking organization becomes beholden to an external certifying authority, that relationship can introduce—or at a minimum create the appearance of—bias and compromise impartiality. Our commitment is to Scripture, truth, and constitutional liberty, not institutional approval.
