Craig Jackson – October 27, 2024
Here’s a preview of our upcoming series, “Without Evidence.”

One week after County Attorney Megan E. Morgan sent an email on January 12, 2024, to commissioners indicating she would draft a letter of censure, she contacted InsightGlobal to investigate the events leading to the firm posting the County Manager job listing online. In an email exchange between Morgan and Megan Quinn, Associate General Counsel at InsightGlobal, Quinn agreed that Currituck County was entitled to records revealing whether Commissioner Beaumont had authorized the job listing. However, according to county staff and records approved for release by Morgan to Blackwater Reports, InsightGlobal never provided a contract, emails, texts, or phone records that would link Beaumont to the job posting.
Despite the lack of evidence, the commissioners and staff censured Beaumont and disparaged his character.
