The Village of Pinehurst North Carolina’s Council has operated eerily similar to that of Currituck County. Currently before the Court of Appeals of North Carolina is N.C. CITIZENS FOR TRANSPARENT GOVERNMENT, INC. and KEVIN DRUM, Plaintiffs, v. THE VILLAGE OF PINEHURST, JOHN STRICKLAND in his official capacity as Mayor of the Village of Pinehurst; and JANE HOGEMAN in her official capacity as a member of the Village of Pinehurst Council, Defendants.

The Pinehurst complaint closely mirrors that of Currituck County, where commissioners secretly targeted Commissioner Paul Beaumont. A post by The Moore County Resident dives into issues surrounding the Pinehurst lawsuit that are nearly exacting in detail to the Currituck conspiracy.
