Government officials have a responsibility to be transparent and accountable to the public, and journalists play a crucial role in ensuring that they fulfill this responsibility. Even if a government official chooses not to answer a question, the act of asking the question serves to highlight important issues and hold officials accountable for their responses or lack thereof.
