Heavenly Father,

We come before you today with heavy hearts, lifting up the Currituck County community that finds itself amid controversy and discord. As the Board of Commissioners gathers tonight, we seek your guidance and wisdom to prevail in the face of challenging decisions.

Lord, we acknowledge the concerns and frustrations of Currituck’s residents and ask for a spirit of open communication and transparency during this meeting. May it be a forum for constructive dialogue, where residents can voice their concerns, and leaders can listen with empathy.

In the midst of the challenges facing Currituck County, we specifically lift up Commissioners Bob White, Selina Jarvis, and Mary Etheridge as they navigate the discussions surrounding Commissioner Paul Beaumont. Grant them discernment, open minds, and the ability to make decisions based on credible facts rather than hearsay, conjecture, or malice. Lord, help them resist the urge to decide hastily and without all the facts. May their actions be grounded in a pursuit of understanding, justice, and fairness. We entrust the decision-making process to you, seeking your guidance in every step they take.

We pray for calm heads, heavy hearts, and the right critical decisions to be made tonight. Lord, protect the reputations of these public servants who have dedicated their lives to the community. May the decisions made align with the county’s code of ethics, emphasizing not only adherence to statutes but also the spirit of the law.

May Commissioners Mike Payment, Kevin McCord, and Owen Etheridge enter this meeting with open minds, hearts, and ears, emphasizing the importance of decisions grounded in findings of fact and tangible documents. Guide them to actively participate in a constructive dialogue that fosters resolutions beneficial to all residents of Currituck County.

In these challenging times, let your peace reign over Currituck County. We trust in your divine guidance and pray for resolutions that promote harmony, understanding, and the well-being of all residents.

In Your name, we pray.

Amen.
