On January 14, 2024, at approximately 8:17 pm, Deputies in the B-District responded to an assault in progress call in the Scarborough Square Trailer Park, Manteo, NC 27954. When the deputies arrived they observed a bag of Crack Cocaine fall out of the victims pocket during an interview. A search warrant was obtained for the residence and an amount of an unknown substance and more

Cocaine were located and seized. Connor O. Sadler, M/31, Manteo, NC, and Daniel G. Matthews, M/27, Manteo, NC, were arrested and charged with (F) Possession of Cocaine and (F) Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substance. Sadler was also charged with (M) Simple Assault. Sadler received a $34,000 secured bond and Matthews received a $30,000 secured bond. More charges will be sought once it is determined if the other item found is a controlled substance. Dare County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and Manteo Police Department assisted in this investigation.
